OPENING HOURS: 14 November to 30 December: Sunday to Thursday 11am - 10pm, Friday and Saturday 11am - 11pm (first three Fridays till midnight). On 23 December, the Tivoli Gardens close at 8pm. Closed 24 and 25 December.
The Christmas Market in the Tivoli Gardens is a wonderful prelude to the Christmas holidays. The time-honoured amusement park is transformed into a Yuletide Paradise of sparkling lights and beautifully decorated Christmas stalls offering all manner of sweetmeats, Danish specialties, handicrafts, and seasonal gifts.
All rides operate, and, as a special Christmas feature, the charming 150-years-old double-decker merry-go-round, the oldest carousel of its kind in the world, will start spinning again. Nissekøbing, or Pixieville, is a huge in-door Christmas town with hundreds of mechanical pixies busily preparing for the holidays.
